Dave Pottinger, Co-Founder
Here we are at another Stars’ game. One of the preseason games this year where Tommy was the “Stick Kid”. Ironically, with all the boys’ hockey and other stuff going on this year, this is the only game we’ve been to this season.
Dave has worked on games for 20+ years in every discipline except Art and Sound. He did AI & and engine design for the Age of Empires series. He was the lead designer on Halo Wars. Now, he’s programming/designing on BonusXP’s next round of games.
John Evanson, Co-Founder
Director of Technology
John works remotely from New Hampshire and can occasionally escape to someplace even more remote for a little time away from his loud mechanical keyboard, like here at the Flume Gorge
John has worked on all of BonusXP’s games along with the Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology, Halo Wars, Hero Academy, and Orcs Must Die, doing a bit of everything from pathing to graphics to random maps.

“I don’t always like to take pictures, but when I do, this is what you get.”
Jason has been in the industry for 15 years. He worked on Age of Empires III, Halo Wars, and Rage before helping found BonusXP.
Photo taken in Ireland celebrating a milestone birthday in 2013. Had not yet actually had my Guinness in an Irish pub. My wife and I enjoy travel and will be going to Europe twice in 2015.
Been making games of one sort or another since 1980, and proud to have been on the teams that made the original versions of Railroad Tycoon, Civilization, the Age of Empires series, and Castleville. Considered retirement two years ago but wasn’t really ready for that. Happy to be back engaged with game development and working with the talented crew at BonusXP. They make me laugh every day.
Photo was taken in the UK before I moved to the US, with four generations of my family including my son Ethan (4 months old here), mother Susan and grandmother Margaret.
Russell has worked on Castleville and Cavemania
Here is Alfonso being assaulted by laser pointers at a show.
In his own words, Alfonso is a game industry noob but that’s OK, he brings positive energies and great 3D art. “I’m super excited to work at BonusXP – I couldn’t have asked for better company.” Alfonso received Masters in Game Design from the Guildhall at SMU, and began working at BonusXP shortly after graduating. He loves games, art, music.
I’m the one with the beard.
I graduated from the Guildhall at SMU in May 2015 and started working at BonusXP the next Monday. The passion and work ethic for making great games here in the studio is awesomely contagious. I feel super lucky to be a part of BonusXP as my first game studio and can’t wait for people to play some of our amazing projects!
My job is awesome. People ask me to draw like a monster, or an alien moonbase, or a T-Rex with a floating head, and then I get to go and do that.
Andy has worked on Age of Mythology, Age of Empires III, Wildstar, Monster Crew, Cavemania*, (*plus all the new games we’re working on)
Marc works remotely from Ohio. Here he is making the first of many snowmen with his family after moving there. He likes that BonusXP is making the types of games he really enjoys, and that the Marc’s outnumber everyone else here.
Marc has worked on games since 2000. Early on, Marc programmed games like Alter Echo, Age of Empires 3, and Halo Wars. He later was Director of Engineering and CTO at mobile/social game companies and shipped projects including CastleVille and Dungeon Boss.
Mike is studying alchemy on his way to a masters in wizardry.
Mike worked at Ensemble Studios on everything from Age of Kings: The Conquerors through to Halo Wars, GameChest games for Windows Mobile 7, and Castleville on Facebook.
William (in orange) Playing Rugby. It may not look it, but rugby players are some of the friendliest folks around. After the game they all meet up for the “third half” and have drinks and sing terrible songs together.
William has worked on We Farm, Adventure Bay, and CastleVille
This is Jacob and his wife back when he was bitten by a zombie. Thankfully he doesn’t look this way anymore and says he’s cured. We just keep a few nerf guns in our desks just in case he tries to bite us.
Jacob has been working in games since 2009. He worked on Castleville, Moore’s Folly, and a bunch of stuff that has never seen the light of day…
Thonny “Nemo” Namuonglo
I’m not sitting behind the nachos. I’m actually sitting in them.
Thonny has worked on Age of Empires, Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires III, Halo Wars, Cavemania
This is Mike celebrating his well earned victory over some co-workers on one of our game nights. We try to play at least once a week and we have a good selection of games to choose from.
Mike has worked on Spy Hunter (PS2) – worked on Camera and traffic AI, Stuntman : Ignition (XBox 360/PS2) – Lead of the gameplay team, Castleville (Flash/Facebook) – gameplay
Marc is an aspiring Champion of Chaos. But until the dark lords decide to pay the bills (or give him some sweet wings) he daylights as a Producer.
Marc has worked on Borderlands, Duke Nukem Forever, and Castleville.
Nick can usually be found out hiking in the mountains or on a beach somewhere. The avid traveler he is somehow managed to travel his way into the village stock of Blackbeards, a beach side restaurant in Corpus Christi.
Nick has worked on Shroud of the Avatar, Ultimate Collector, Port Casino Poker, and Port Casino Blackjack.
Graham “Thunder” Somers
This is Graham standing in the middle of the main drag in Santiago, Chile – fortunately for him it was closed at the time for New Year’s celebrations.
Graham has been working in games for over 13 years. He worked as Community Manager on Rise of Nations, Age of Empires III, Dawn of War II, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Monster Crew, Cavemania and now gets to dabble in design work.
Alex is showing off an interactive media experiment he made. He does that sometimes.
Alex hasn’t shipped a game yet, it’s his rookie year! He is proving to be a very valuable member of our programming team.
A transplant from Raleigh NC, Drew is excited to be a part of the BonusXP family! When he isn’t animating you can find him at the Dallas Comedy House, playing board games with friends, or wrasslin’ robots!
Drew has worked on many games over his 6 year career, most recently Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends and Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations. He is eager to contribute to future projects at BonusXP!
My husband and I on a pedicab tour around Central Park because, why not.
This is her first time working at a gaming studio, before starting on this new adventure she worked in the movie industry on projects like Free Birds, The Book of Life, Animal Crackers and a TV show called Owlegories.
